June 7th and 8th in Maui, Hawaii on Kaanapali Beach. This event will be a 2-day competitive FITness experience that will feature paddle boarding, swimming, gymnastics, olympic lifting and bodyweight movements. Partner workout with 9 competition categories/divisions.

There is a room block with a discounted rate of $215 (current regular rate $325) established for the event. Suites are also available at a discount. Please contact the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa  (808) 661-0031 and say you are with "SICFIT" to access the room block.

Athlete registration is now closed

$5 Spectator passes can be purchased at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.

Will this interfere with the regionals?

Probably not but not certain. Traditionally Regionals have been over by the first week of June but you never know. HI is lumped in with N.Cal and based on the last 2 years they have competed in early May.

Yes, the $185 is for both people on the team.

Katie- the workouts have yet to be announced, when they do the standards will accompany them. Day 1: water, paddle board, bodyweight Day 2: Oly lifting and gymnastics

RX weights will follow traditional male/female prescriptions (135#/95#)Masters and Intermediate weights will be in the (65#-115# range)

The Art of Heavy Lifting Without Overtraining

I've been training for the Iron Maiden Challenge. As a very small person, in order to achieve this goal I had to learn how to lift heavy on a regular basis without overtraining.

Three years ago I started training for a strength goal called the Iron Maiden Challenge - a weighted pull up, a military press, and a pistol squat all with a 24kg (~53lbs) kettlebell. By training for this goal I had to learn how to lift heavy weights on a regular basis without overtraining.
